University of Newcastle Scholarship for Excellence in Africa 2023

The African Excellence Scholarship 2023 degree program is selected based on academic merit in compliance with the University’s procedures for assessing ATAR and GPA. In 2023, there will be 100 slots available for this scholarship program.

Internal transfer students who have not previously received the scholarship and who are enrolled in an Australian institution of higher learning or an online institution are also disqualified.

This scholarship is not open to applicants who are enrolled in quota-restricted programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to be considered for this scholarship grant must meet the following guidelines.

• Must have a passport from one of the 54 African countries.
• Programs offered at offshore campuses, such as ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, and Higher Degrees by Research, are not eligible; commencing enrollment in an approved undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the university is required.
• Must be an international student paying all fees.
• You must be starting a program that qualifies at an Australian campus or an online campus, as mentioned in your letter of offer. Unless a particular exception has been agreed in advance by the university, the receiver of a scholarship from a different institution is prohibited.
• Must complete all financial obligations of an international student paying full tuition, including the full tuition amount and any related costs for obtaining a student visa, and in the event that the scholarship’s eligibility is not maintained.
